A class typically lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours and is usually performed barefoot and in comfortable clothing.

The teacher leads the group by explaining and demonstrating the dance/movement exercises. The group is then invited to do their own unique interpretation of the exercises, inspired by the music and the suggestions given.
The practice is wordless. This is because talking stimulates the intellectual function, which we do not work with in Biodanza.
At the beginning of the class the exercises are playful dances to help break the ice and stimulate natural, spontaneous movements. The middle portion of the class is a practice of simple fluidity exercises to helps to decelerate and take the heat off the mind. Towards the end of the class – the exercises are considered, slow and mindful as we connect gently with ourselves and each other.
We dance alone, as a whole group, in pairs and in small groups. All dances are done ‘in feedback’, i.e. nobody does what doesn’t feel good.
